Christchurch South Intermediate School offers a pre- high school experience, specialising in the education of students aged 11 to 13 years. We are located near the foot of the Cashmere Hills, between the suburbs of Addington and Cashmere in the South of the city. Currently we have a roll of approximately 545 with 24 teaching staff.

Our Motto is "Aim High" and as an intermediate school targeting the needs of Year 7 and 8 students we have developed a vision that focuses on the very specific needs of this age group;

Facilities

Christchurch South Intermediate School is extremely well resourced. We have a recently, upgraded Technology block which incorporates biotechnology, Foods, Fabric, Design and Workshop. We have specialist rooms for Art, Performing Arts, a Science Lab, 2 Digital rooms and a well stocked library. Specialist teachers enhance the programmes in these areas.

Sports are well catered for with facilities that include 3 outdoor Basketball courts, 3 Netball courts, 2 Tennis courts, an artificial Cricket pitch, an indoor Volleyball court, 6 Table Tennis tables as well as Soccer, Hockey and Rugby fields.

International Facilities:  We employ an International Students Director, ESOL teacher, teacher Aide and a Korean Support person. We take up to 2 students per class. As part of the service we provide home stay accommodation.
