Paparoa Street School is a primary school catering for children from year 1 to year 6 (5years old to 11 years). It is situated in a popular part of north west Christchurch. It is a very attractive school set on large grounds with well maintained modern facilities.  The school prides itself on quality teaching and learning and offers children a wide range of  learning opportunities.  Paparoa Street School welcomes international students and offers these students and their parents al lot of opportunities to become very involved in school life.

Paparoa Street School has between 600 to 650 students. All students are mainstreamed in classes.  There are a wide range of additional learning opportunites including choirs, orchestra, cultural activities, kapahaka and various sports teams and sporting opportunities. International students are guaranteed additional English classes and pastoral support to ensure they settle quickly and confidently in to their NZ school experience.Parents are welcome to visit the school and get involved in school activities. There are regular morning teas for parents. The morning teas are an opportunity to share with them special events that are coming up and to inform them about  their child’s education.

Junior classroom block is currently be ing extended and moderised.Includes new information/technology centre, large school hall that is designed for versatilty and can be used for assemblies, school productions, concerts, meeting and sporting activities.
