Papanui High School is a community based co-educational secondary school with a roll of 1560 students from Yr 9 to Yr 13, situated only 10 minutes from both the city centre and the airport. The student population is diverse with students coming from a range of cultural backgrounds. The strength of our school is that we meet the needs of our community. Papanui High School welcomes international students and has approximately 80 full time students each year.

The staff and students take pride in their school. There is a strong focus on teaching and learning and students are given every opportunity to attain their academic goals and also become involved in the wide range of co-curricular activities on offer. International students who require extra language support before they study in mainstream classes join an ongoing language programme in the orientation class.

Facilities

The grounds are attractive. The facilities are modern and use the latest technology. Papanui High School has an ICT contract with the Ministry of Education for the next 3 years. The Graham Condon Leisure Centre is being built on site at present and will include a new swimming pool, fitness centre and gymnasium.

Services

Student support programmes are strong. Students are given expert guidance by the international staff and school guidance counsellors and career staff. The international team has 4 staff – a Director, Dean, Administrator and Homestay Co-ordinator who are always on hand for advice.
