Ilam School is a multi-cultural school situated next to the University of Canterbury. There are approximately 500 students from Year 1 to Year 6. Our school is led by our principal Doctor Lyn Bird and has  a highly professional and experienced staff. Our school’s motto is Celebrating achievement, Celebrating diversity. This ensures that all children’s individual needs are catered for.

Ilam School provides a well rounded educational experience where children participate in outdoor education, sport, drama, music, art, robotics, creative writing as well as the core subjects. It has a strong ESOL department employing six experienced staff to ensure all students can access the curriculum through their improved English skills.
