Kirkwood Intermediate School is located in the heart of Christchurch and has approximately 300 students in Year 7 and Year 8 (10 – 13 year olds).  We warmly welcome international students from all over the world and have an excellent reputation for taking good care of them.  We actively participate in student exchange programmes and host overseas student groups.  We welcome the qualities and strengths which international students bring to Kirkwood.

Facilities

Kirkwood has excellent facilities – eleven classrooms, seven technology classrooms, school library with computer room, art room, ESOL classes for ESOL students, a swimming pool and a hall.  We are proud of having a big playground with a variety of sports facilities including a challenge course which focuses on risk taking and upper body strength development.
