Mairehau High School is a state Year 9-13 (Form 3-7) coeducational high school with a current roll of 490 students. It is located in north east Christchurch, seven kilometres from the city centre. There are manyrecreational facilities close by, including golf courses, golf driving range, swimming complex, mountain biking, etc.
We provide specialist staff in all subjects. Our teachers are highly qualified and university trained. We prepare students for study at university, polytechnic and other tertiary institutions. Class sizes are kept low with senior classes usually under 25 students. A full range of academic subjects is available. International students are supervised by the International Dean who provides advice on subjects to be studied and general welfare.
The school is situated in 8.5 hectares of attractive landscaped grounds, with over 40 specialist teachingrooms, including science laboratories, computer and technology laboratories, art and music suites, library and an international students common room, gymnasium and tennis courts.
English language support is available for all international students. Appropriate programmes are designed for students once their English language skills have been ascertained.
