A country location with the benefits of being in the country, such as riding, beaches, rivers and mountains, as well as being close to the large city of Christchurch.

The school has a roll of 1700 students and a wide variety of subjects to choose from. It has a 40 hectare farm which offers agriculture, horticulture, rural skills, equestrian studies and animal care classes. It also has extensive grounds, modern facilities.  Students can choose to live on farms or in the town.
